Torrent Gas launches COCO CNG Station at Lalru, Dera Bassi

1st Company-owned-company-operated CNG Station takes total number of Torrent Gas CNG stations to 26 in Patiala GA

Torrent Gas, the gas distribution arm of diversified Torrent Group, on Friday announced launch of its first Company-Owned-Company-Operated (COCO) CNG station under Patiala Geographical Area at Lalru, Dera Bassi in SAS Nagar. Torrent Gas is already operating 25 CNG stations in Patiala, SAS Nagar, Sangrur and Malerkotla districts of Punjab, covering all the key national and state highways. The launch of 1st COCO CNG Station takes the total number of Torrent Gas CNG Stations in Patiala GA to 26. Additional two new COCO stations are under construction – one each in Nabha and Muradpur. Torrent Gas has been authorised by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to provide Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Punjab.

Speaking on the momentous occasion, Mr. Shashwat Agrawal, Executive Director, Torrent Gas said, “We are committed to making CNG widely available at an affordable price to the citizens of Patiala, SAS Nagar, Sangrur and Malerkotla. COCO Lalru CNG Station fills up a network gap on Chandigarh – Ambala Highway and will be specifically convenient for transporters and fleet owners operating on this route. We are also setting up COCO stations in Nabha and Muradpur, which will further enhance our reach and convenience for our customers. We also plan to connect various industries and commercial establishments in the above districts to create a robust, wide-spread and efficient CGD network. This availability of Natural Gas shall create an ecosystem and provide a major boost to the socio-economic development of entire region.”Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a much cleaner and environment friendly fuel and is significantly cheaper as compared to petrol.

He further said, Torrent Gas now operates 26 CNG stations and has connected more than 7000+ households, 21 industries and more than 50 commercial establishments with piped gas connections in the Patiala GA. It has already laid 108 Kms of Steel, 613 Kms of MDPE pipelines and plans to connect 10,000+ households in Patiala, Rajpura and Dera Bassi with Piped Natural Gas by March 2024.
