Maj Gen Mandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, a resident of Mohali, has been conferred with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), the country’s second-highest peacetime military decoration, by the Hon’ble President of India in recognition of his distinguished and exceptional service to the nation. He is son of Prof. Kulwant Singh (Retd.).
Over the course of his illustrious career, Maj Gen Mandeep Singh has held several key command and staff appointments, making significant contributions to operational preparedness and veterans’ welfare. His professional conduct and leadership have consistently strengthened institutional capabilities across diverse appointments.
Earlier, on 15 August 2004, he was also awarded the Sena Medal (Gallantry) for acts of exceptional courage and devotion to duty. An accomplished officer-scholar, he is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, and has undergone the prestigious National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, reflecting his strong academic and strategic credentials.
