The grenade attack on the Jalandhar residence of former Punjab BJP chief and former cabinet minister Manoranjan Kalia has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Punjab. This incident is a perfect example of the collapsed law and order situation in the state and the general public has started feeling insecure due to this incident. This was stated by Punjab BJP vice-president Fateh Jang Singh Bajwa in a statement issued here.Bajwa said that the attack on the house of the senior BJP leader is a conspiracy to disturb the peace of the state. Despite such a big incident, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also holds the charge of the Home Department, has not yet condemned this attack. Demanding the Chief Minister to take moral responsibility for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and resign immediately, he said that due to such incompetent leadership in this border state, the common man has lost faith in the government.
Bajwa said that earlier grenade attacks had taken place on many police stations and posts in Punjab, which the police had been denying. However, later when the police arrested the accused of these attacks, their statements were exposed. He said that these attacks have raised questions on the ability of the AAP government to maintain law and order in the state.
The state BJP vice-president said that such attacks have been happening continuously since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab and even after so many attacks, the Chief Minister is silent on the issue of law and order.
