Ms. Suparna Sachdev, Honorary Secretary of the Society for the Care of the Blind, was awarded a Commendation Certificate by the Chandigarh Administration on Independence Day 2026. The recognition highlights her outstanding contributions to social service, inclusive education, and the empowerment of visually impaired individuals.
Ms. Sachdev has dedicated over two decades to supporting visually impaired students. Her journey began in 1998 as a Social Worker at the Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh. She assumed the role of Honorary Secretary of the Society for the Care of the Blind in 2023.
Under her leadership, the institution has advanced digital literacy, strengthened infrastructure, and mobilized corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to enhance educational and rehabilitation facilities.
Shri Dinesh Kumar Kapila, Senior Vice President-cum-Chairman of the Society, along with members of the Standing Committee, staff, and students, extended warm congratulations to Ms. Sachdev. They praised her compassionate and inclusive leadership, calling the award a proud moment for both the Society and the Institute for the Blind.
