Mohali Press Club will organise Dhian Di Lohri Mela on January 9, 2026, with great enthusiasm to celebrate Lohri while promoting the social message of respect and pride for daughters. The event will be held under the banner of cultural harmony and social awareness.
Sharing details, Mohali Press Club President Sukhdev Singh Patwari said that Punjab Cabinet Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar will be the chief guest on the occasion. MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh will preside over the function, adding significance to the celebrations.
Several prominent personalities will attend the mela as special guests, including Narinder Singh Shergill, Chairman, Milkfed Punjab; Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia, Chairman, Water and Sewerage Board, Punjab; and Prabhjot Kaur, Chairman, Zila Yojna Board. Their presence is expected to inspire the audience and strengthen the message of social responsibility.
The programme will feature traditional Lohri rituals, folk performances such as gidda and bhangra, and cultural presentations highlighting Punjabi heritage. The event aims to encourage community participation and spread awareness about the importance of celebrating and empowering the girl child.
