Soulful Vocalist duo Prabhakar & Diwakar Kashyap & Melodic Sitar player Amita Dalal light up Day 3 of 53rd Bhaskar Rao Nritya & Sangeet Sammelan

The third day of ongoing 53rd All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan witnessed remarkable presentations at Tagore Theatre at 6:30 pm here today. In today’s program famous classical vocalist duo Kashyap Brothers mesmerized everyone with their presentation and famous sitar player Amita Dalal acquired lot of applause with the melodious tunes of sitar. The programme was also telecasted on the social media platform face book official of the Kendra.

Todays artists Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap & Dr. Diwakar Kashyap KASHYAP BANDHU, received their initial musical training at an early age from their Parents, Pt. Ramprakash Mishra & Mrs. Meera Mishra. Later the duo was lucky to be trained by the Doyens of Banaras Gharana, Padmabhushan Pt. Rajan Mishra & Pt. Sajan Mishra. Banaras Gayaki is distinguished by superb layakari and unmatched sweetness. Kashyap Bandhu have a powerful and expressing voice which moves with equal ease in all the three octaves. Kashyap Bandhu posses a rich repertoire of lovely “Bandish” in Khayals as well as Thumris, Dadras and Bhajans which captivates and mesmerizes listener . Kashyap Bandhus have performed on various national and international dignified stages

On other hand deeply immersed in the music of sitar, the talented Amita Dalal is a name to reckon Bio‐Data of AMITA DALAL with. She is a disciple of renowned sitarist Vidushi Smt. Manjuben Mehta. Also simultaneously Amita has received dynamic guidance from Grammy Award winner Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt. Amita has performed and enthralled audiences world over through her mesmerizing performances on several noteworthy occasions.

Today’s program started with a gorgeous Raag Puriya Dhanashree by Kashyap bandhus. After reposeful traditional alap they presented an invocatory bandish “dharat hu dhayan ” in vilambit ek taal. The duo maintained their magical flow with next bandish set to Madhya laya teen taal with bols “Panghatwa kaise jaun” in their appealing voice. After this they moved on to present a thumri “Bansuriya ab na bajavo sham “ . They ended the recital with a spell bound bhajan with beautiful bols “ab kripa karo shriram “ which was well received by the local musical fraternity and music lovers of tricity. Sh. Durjay Bhaumik on Tabla and Smt.. Paromita Mukherjee on Harmonium provided a radiant accompaniment to the concert,

After this Ahmadabad based Amita Dalal enthralled the music lovers with the h melodies of Sitar. She chose raag “Amritvarshini “with the aalap and elaborated the depth of raga with Jod Jhala followed by some beautiful gats. . At the end of the program she concluded with a fast tempo based Jhala This performances was studded with Carnatic style of classical music. The accompaniment of Ghatam and Mridangam was a added attraction . Captivating trio Ghatam, Mridangam and Tabla enthrall the city audience . Well-known tabla player Himanshu Mahant accompanied her on the Tabla and Varun Rajasekaran on Ghatam and Manohar Balachandran on Mridangam .

At the end of the program, Dr. Shobha Koser , Registrar and Mr. Sajal Koser , Secretary of the honored the artists by with utriya and mementos. Dr. Samira Koser compere the stage very well and disclosed that fourth day of the Sammelan i.e. tomorrow, Santoor exponent Pandit Rajkumar Majumder and Kuchipudi Exponent Vidushi Meenu Thakur & her troupe will perform.
